Senan Village

Senan is a small village of stone  houses, surrounded by woods and mountains, which can trace its origins back to 1159.

Situated 652 metres above sea level, the municipality covers a total area of 11,9 square kilometres.

The village is divided into the following parts:

The old village centre by the church, the Arrabal de la Creu (Area of the Cross), and the Arrabal de la Font ( Area of the Well), where a glass foundry used to exit in the eighteenth century.

And you can see the church of Santa Maria de Senan the most important building in the village. Architecturally speaking, it was constructed in the Romanesque style at the end of the twelfth century, at the instigation of the monks of Montserrat.

El Racó de la Font is a quaint public square , just below the village, which has been adapted for open air eating with benches and tables.
